Ep. 33 DADT with Darren Manzella

Rarely do we have something as momentous as the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. For nearly 17 years, the discriminatory law required honorable members of the military to serve their country in silence. With the swift actions of a “lame duck” congress, the law banning gays and lesbians from openly serving in uniform is now history.

We are honored to have former Army Sergeant, Darren Manzella, who was discharged under Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell with us this week to share his thoughts on the pending repeal. Be sure to check out the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) for more information.

Of course, it’s also the holiday season! For many of us, that means spoiling our furry friends and four-legged family members. To help us do just that is Chris Haight from Honey Hill Pet Center. Chris is an expert on all things pets, with a specialty in exotic and unusual animals. You’ll want to hear what he has to say.

Enjoy the show!

** Update: We humbly remember Sgt. Manzella who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in 2013. He was a friend, and inspiration, and a true hero. **
